Orient Stretto 75th Anniversary Limited Edition Collection

Orient Stretto Limited Edition watches

Japanese watch brand Orient is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year and marking the occasion by releasing three 75th anniversary limited edition and regular Orient Stretto models in its Contemporary Collection at affordable prices for watch enthusiasts.

The three new 75th anniversary models are available in a limited edition of 2,500 pieces for the Orient Stretto Day & Night, 2,800 pieces for the Orient Stretto Semi Skeleton and 2,900 pieces for the Orient Stretto Date.

Although each watch is based on different designs, they all share common elements commemorating the brand’s 75th anniversary, such as the original Orient logo from 75 years ago in cursive on the dial along with a grey tone that enhances the overall look of the timepieces.

The word ‘stretto’ is derived from Italian musical terminology referring to accelerating the tempo towards a climax, giving this watch series a sense of exhilaration that fits into today’s ever busy urban lifestyle.

The Orient Stretto designs are based on the popular Semi Skeleton model that expresses urban landscapes with wedge-shaped indices which bring to mind towering skyscrapers. The concentric circles beneath them suggest the arcs often seen in today’s modern architecture. These urban designs are accentuated by a distinctive sunburst culminating in an arc and three-dimensional wedge-shaped indices on a grey dial. The orange second hands provide a striking contrast to the monotoned look of the watch.

Each watch is fitted with a see-through case back that showcases the mechanical movement and marked with a cursive inscription that says: “Orient Since 1950 75th Anniversary”. They also have individual serial numbers engraved on the back.

All three watches are water resistant to 50 metres and have a power reserve of up to 40 hours, making them practical for every day use. The Orient Stretto Day & Night has a 41.5mm stainless steel case and is fitted with an automatic (with hand winding) mechanical inhouse calibre F6B24 movement, while the Orient Stretto Semi Skeleton has a 40.8mm stainless steel case and is fitted with an automatic (with hand winding) mechanical inhouse calibre F6S22 movement. The Orient Stretto Date is the smallest of the three watches and has a 38.5mm stainless steel case and automatic (with hand winding) mechanical inhouse calibre F6722 movement.

These three watches all come with a special 75th anniversary box and are available to buy from the Orient UK website, priced from £349.99.
