British watch brand Swan & Edgar recently launched the striking new ‘Horizon’ timepiece, following the company’s debut at last month’s World Time Show at the London Sofitel Heathrow T5.
Limited to only 300 watches worldwide, the Horizon was inspired by the iconic white cliffs of Dover and captures Swan & Edgar’s vision of combining heritage, resilience and a contemporary design into an elegant and practical everyday watch.
The new model reflects the brand’s craftsmanship and storytelling which pairs British cultural references together with refined horological detail and offers a choice of two dials: a Blue Enamel and a Mineral Musou, all assembled and regulated in the UK by Horologium in Maidenhead.
Each dial style brings to mind elements of the sea, cliffs and sky through multi-layered textures of enamel and natural white quartz stone. And in a nod to Dover’s wartime significance, there is an 18-carat gold triangle at 12 o’clock whilst the red-tipped seconds hand is a reference to the RAF sector clock that guided operations during the Battle of Britain.
The Miyota 9015 automatic movement is housed in a 39.5mm polished stainless-steel case which is chamfered and finely balanced and has a power reserve of 42 hours. The case is fitted to a stylish and comfortable hand-made grey Italian suede strap in another nod to aviation heritage and history.
Every new Horizon watch comes in a numbered case featuring a 3D-engraved depiction of the cliffs of Dover together with a commemorative coin.
James Fields, founder of Swan & Edgar, commented:
“The Horizon is our bridge between what has come before and what comes next for Swan & Edgar. It’s a watch that captures light and history, precision and adventure. After the excitement of the World Time Show, it’s thrilling to open orders today and share this next chapter with collectors around the world.”
