Seiko Prospex Alpinist Mechanical GMT in Green

Japanese watchmaker Seiko recently introduced the new Prospex Alpinist Mechanical GMT timepiece in Green.

The Alpinist was first introduced in 1959 for mountaineers navigating demanding environments and has subsequently become a cornerstone of the brand’s Prospex range.

This latest evolution of one of Seiko’s most iconic and enduring collections is known for its distinctive design with its Arabic numerals, applied indices and a rotating inner compass ring, designed for modern adventurers wherever their travels may take them in the world.

With its combination of rich heritage and contemporary functionality, this modern interpretation allows the wearer to track multiple time zones simultaneously.

The super-hard coated 39.5mm stainless steel case and curved anti-reflective sapphire crystal lens is built for durability and reliability, featuring a screw-down crown and is water resistance to 200 metres and comes with a sustainable dark LWG-certified leather strap.

The eye catching green dial has three-dimensional indices, giving a refined, high quality feel to the watch, while LumiBrite on the hands and indices ensures good visibility even in low light as does the red-tipped 24-hour hand and 24-hour display on the bezel as you’d expect from a GMT watch.

At its heart, the Alpinist Mechanical GMT is powered by an in-house 6R54 automatic calibre that gives +25/-25 seconds per day accuracy and a 72-hour power reserve.
