New Seiko 5 Sports Field GMT Additions

Seiko 5 Sports Field GMT watches

Japanese watchmaker Seiko has introduced two new additions to its Seiko 5 Sports Field collection with new GMT models in Khaki Drill and Desert Sand.

The collection combines military heritage-inspired design alongside contemporary functionality with inspiration for these two watches coming from a vintage style that was originally called a ‘trench watch’ built to be robust and reliable in the toughest of conditions which very much echo the Seiko 5 Sports characteristics.

These two new models take their cues from classic military outerwear in the understated tones of Khaki Drill and Desert Sand textured, sandblasted dials. They feature bold Arabic numerals and a red GMT hand with Lumibrite on the hands and indices, while the first bi-directional bezel in the Seiko Field collection adds enhanced functionality so you can easily track a second time zone.

The durable 39.4mm stainless steel case has a see-through case back and curved hardlex crystal lens and is water resistant to 100 metres, making it a practical every day watch, fitted with a stainless steel bracelet strap with three-fold clasp and push button release for added safety.

For over 50 years Seiko 5 Sports watches have been known for their reliability, durability, performance and good value. The ‘5’ represents the original five key features of every Seiko 5 that are still present today, namely an automatic movement, day-date display, water resistance, a recessed crown and a durable case and bracelet.

Both the Seiko 5 Sports Field GMT in Desert Sand and Khaki Drill are priced at £410 and can be pre-ordered from Seikoboutique.co.uk, with delivery expected later this month.
