Eden Mill Launches Summer in St Andrews Gin

Summer in St Andrews Gin

Scottish distillery Eden Mill recently launched ‘Summer in St Andrews’, which is a limited edition coastal Scottish gin that has been inspired by the flavours of the distillery’s hometown during the sunny summer months of the year.

So, what can you expect from this rather unique Scottish gin? Well, it has an initial rather sharp, clean and bright lemon taste to it, followed by a touch of rhubarb and soft tartness that lingers before rounding off with some local raspberries and strawberries, making it the perfect refreshing summer cocktail gin that can be enjoyed at home or lazing by the sea when mixed with some ice, tonic water and a slice of lemon. Alternatively, you can turn it into a Gin Spritz with soda or prosecco.

The new gin’s launch will be celebrated at the distillery during Afternoon Tea Week which runs from 10th to 16th August with a Summer Gin Afternoon Tea service available throughout August. The cakes and preserves will be paired to the gin’s tasting notes, and a signature Bramble serve will be poured from a teapot. Tickets are £35 per person and are available from Eden Mill’s website.

Eden Mill’s Senior brand manager, Hamish Maclean, commented:

“Summer in St Andrews is an ode to our hometown in the sun. It’s a gin for garden parties and beach picnics, that can be enjoyed with tonic, lemonade, prosecco or whatever you so choose.

“Local raspberries and strawberries from Tarvit Farm in Cupar are bolstered by heady rhubarb and a sharp kick of lemon. There’re just 500 bottles, so – like the Scottish summer – it will be gone before you know it!”

Only 500 bottles of this special gin have been produced so I recommend you don’t wait too long as they will no doubt prove popular and disappear from the shelves quickly. ‘Summer in St Andrews’ is bottled at 40% ABV, priced at £32 for a 70cl bottle and is available to buy at the Eden Mill distillery shop, online at edenmill.com as well as through selected trade partners.
