Fentimans Secret Spritz Garden

Fentimans Secret Spritz Garden in Farringdon is the perfect place to unwind on a weekday work night.

London can feel overwhelming at the best of times, and in the midst of summer it is tricky to find a place where one is able to relax. Luckily, Fentimans, the tonic water company have created a pop-up secret garden for city workers to escape from the stresses of the office.

When it seems like all the outdoor locations in London are brimming to capacity, it was lovely to discover a hidden oasis just around the corner from the hustle of the city.

Refreshing summer cocktail

Just a five-minute walk from Farringdon station you will find the Fentimans Spritz Garden which is open for the month of August.

It is rare to see such vast quantities of green in central London which is just beyond the church courtyard adding a romantic and enchanting feel to the surroundings.

The drinks on offer are just the right amount of refreshing – sharp cocktails which aren’t too strong nor too sweet but enough to put you at ease – perfect for a weekday meetup. They are all beautifully presented in large impressive glasses and decorated with freshly picked herbs including basil, mint and cucumber.

Enjoying Fentimans Secret Spritz Garden

I sampled the Valencian Orange with candied notes of Pink Rhubarb which was a striking orange that was so beautifully presented I almost didn’t want to drink it. My guest, D sampled the Rhubarb Spritz with orange and fresh mint, which was tangy, delicious and refreshing.

The non-alcoholic cocktail menu looked equally appetising, and I am eager to return to try more.

It honestly felt as if I had stumbled upon a magical fairy garden (the fairy lights may have helped) and the jazz musicians playing live music set a relaxed tone to the evening.

Fentimans Tonic Water

I imagine the garden would also be the ideal location for a romantic date as a swing covered in flowers sits at the entrance to the courtyard.

A diverse range of flowers are in bloom and the sprawling 200-year-old olive trees truly add to the sanctuary-like feel of the gardens. It really allows one to imagine they are in some sort of secret paradise.

Fentimans is known for its high-quality tonic water and the cocktails and evening did not disappoint. So, if you are looking for a beautiful respite on a hot summer’s evening where you can hear yourself think then escape to Fentimans Spritz Garden.
