Premier luxury chalet operator Purple Ski recently announced the opening of Chalet Cervinia in Val d’Isère for this winter ski season, adding yet another exceptional property to its portfolio of luxury catered ski chalets in the French Alps that also include the ski resorts of Méribel and Courchevel.

This brand-new chalet sleeps up to 13 people in its six bedrooms and is the latest luxury chalet from husband-and-wife owners Etienne and Jeanne Roesch Degoy, who are also behind Purple Ski’s award-winning Chalet Inoko in Val d’Isère.

Chalet Cervinia has been a passion project for the couple, with the chalet’s name derived from the Italian ski resort that shares the iconic Matterhorn (or Monte Cervino as the Italians call it) with the Swiss ski resort of Zermatt, which Etienne, a keen mountaineer, climbed last year.

If you are looking for a peaceful location, then you will find Chalet Cervinia is ideal, being tucked away in the quiet lanes of the charming Le Joseray area of Val d’Isère but less than 100 metres from the Joseray piste and just a short walk from the village centre.

The three-story chalet is a hidden gem that blends classic alpine design with state-of-the-art facilities. It features a welcoming large open-plan living-dining space, which is the heart of the property. Outside, the sun-soaked balconies to the south and east, offer picturesque views of Val d’Isère village and the snowy treetops and mountain peaks.

Owner-interior designer Jeanne Roesch Degoy has created a space that features wooden beams, stunning pendant lighting, floor-to-ceiling windows that give a lot of natural light and a large cosy fireplace for a luxurious yet warm and cosy setting for family dinners and evenings by the fire.

The chalet has five elegant double bedrooms as well as a children’s bunk room, each with its own en-suite bathroom, making it ideal for families and groups of friends. You can unwind after a day on the slopes in the on-property spa with its hot tub, sauna, massage room and long sapphire-hued swimming pool.

The ground floor has a state-of-the-art home screening room that gives a real cinema experience that includes tiered seating and ceiling lighting featuring a starry-night sky design. There is also a custom boot room to keep all your ski kit in.

From the spacious open-plan living areas to the spa facilities and private home cinema, every detail has been thoughtfully considered to elevate the guests’ holiday, whether they are on or off the slopes.”

In line with all Purple Ski’s chalets, if you are staying at Chalet Cervinia, you will have access to a full team of staff, including daily housekeeping, an in-chalet ski and boot fitting service and a private chauffeured minibus, as well as a dedicated concierge service.
