Festive Cocktails In New York City

With Christmas just around the corner and the holiday season upon us, we thought we would take a look at some festive cocktails available over in New York City but with a British twist, as well as some cocktails you can make for yourself and friends at home.

Bluebird London NYC have joined forces with The White Company to create a Christmassy holiday cocktail menu based on The White Company’s holiday candle scents. There are four specially created cocktails to choose from, the first being ‘Roasted Chestnut’, which is made with 2 oz of Bulleit Bourbon, 0.5 vanilla honey syrup and  10 drops of Xocolatl Bitters, served with a large cube of ice, stirred and garnished with a sage sprig and chestnut dusted with cacao and confectioners’ sugar and served in a tiny gift box.

The second cocktail is aptly named ‘Winter’ and is a mix of Ron Zacapa, espresso, orange and baking spice. ‘Fir Tree’ is made with Don Julio Blanco Tequila, cranberry, ginger, citrus, Zirbenz pine liqueur and topped with a bubbly Brut. The final cocktail is ‘Highland Escape’, which is a mix of Johnnie Walker Black Label, Yellow Chartreuse Liqueur, chai and citrus.

These special festive cocktails are available until Tuesday December 31st 2019 and priced between $17 to $19.

Tawny Owl

Turning to a festive cocktail you can make yourself, how about this Tawny Owl (pictured above) made with 1 part Absolut Elyx, 1 part Tawny Port, 1/2 part Viciolata Cherry Wine, 1/2 part Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice and 1/3 part Sugar Syrup. It is garnished with a dehydrated orange slice and cherry and served in a Copper Owl. If you are making it at home, the best method is to add all the ingredients into a shaker and shake well with cubed ice. Then strain the contents over cracked ice into the Copper Owl and add the garnish as required.

So whatever you do get up to this Christmas, we hope that these festive cocktails have sparked some creative ideas.
