Marella Cruises Announces Fifth Ship and New USA Itineraries

Marella Cruises has announced that a fifth ship will join the fleet and the line will also be offering new itineraries in America.

The 952-cabin Marella Voyager will set sail in the summer of 2023 to destinations including Spain and the South of France. Marella Cruises, which is aimed at British travellers, is part of the Tui holiday group and Marella Voyager is currently sailing as the Tui Cruises’ vessel Mein Schiff Herz. It will go into dry dock for renovation before being launched under its new name.

The family-friendly ship will contain some of the favourite features found on Marella’s other all-inclusive cruise ships and the ten food venues will include the popular Surf and Turf, Nonna’s and Snack Shack. Announcing the new ship Chris Hackney, Managing Director of Cruise for TUI UK & Ireland, revealed it would also debut a new Mexican eatery and a ‘secret’ speakeasy bar with other new features being announced at a later date.

He said:

“After a challenging year for the industry we couldn’t be more thrilled to finally announce we’ll be welcoming Marella Voyager, the fifth ship in our fleet, in spring 2023 with her first sailing taking place in June. This ship builds on our already popular fleet and offers loyal customers and new customers more choice. We know what our customers like and so we want to ensure we keep some Marella Cruises favourites but also adding a different flavour to Marella Voyager too.”

The seven-night itineraries sailing out of Port Canaveral are American Dream which includes an overnight in New York, Floridian Adventures with an overnight in Tampa and Sunshine States and Stands with a visit to Miami. There will be direct flights to Florida with Tui Airways and passengers will have the option to book cruise and stay holidays with a choice of 18 hotels.

Mr Hackney added:

“Being able to set sail into the USA is another milestone for us. Expanding our programme allows our customers to experience once-in-a-lifetime adventures and we’ve made sure there really is something for everyone. The excitement for cruising is well and truly back and we’re delighted to be able to continue to offer new experiences for our customers.”

Marella Cruises is the third largest cruise line in the UK and in addition to Marella Discovery, the current fleet comprises Marella Discovery 2, Marella Explorer and the adult only Marella Explorer 2.
