Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat cast

Just shy of its 60th anniversary and the infamous Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical is still delighting.

A packed King’s Theatre in Glasgow was on its feet singing and dancing along to the finale of this spectacular, colourful and downright fun show.

First performed in 1968 and based on the character of Joseph from the Bible’s book of Genesis, it’s an easy on the eye and to follow musical, that has it all, from catchy songs to a fabulous set and costumes.

With a top cast too and the show is everything that makes a great night out. Adam Filipe plays a solid Joseph, with a strong singing voice and is backed up by the hard working narrator Christina Bianco, who is in every scene and looks so at home in her role and performance.

The heart-warming story tells of Joseph, a young teenager, facing unimaginable hardships in life and who ends up running the country.

Told with catchy songs, like Any Dream Will Do, Poor, Poor Joseph and Go, Go, Go Joseph, it’s a light-hearted look at all things religious.

But it’s 2009 X Factor Joe McElderry who steals the show as he struts and swaggers in his “The King” role as Pharaoh.

With a powerful voice, belting out beauties like Poor, Poor Pharaoh, he really commands the stage and has the audience eating out of his hand.
