DRAM5 Unveils a Blind Box Whisky Tasting Experience

DRAM5 whisky bottle

Last month, DRAM5 launched a design-led whisky discovery box, reimagining the way whisky is experienced and appreciated. The DRAM5 blind boxes have been created for both the curious and connoisseur and invite you to explore Single Malt Scotch whisky without any preconception, offering an innovative tasting experience and flavour exploration into the unknown.

DRAM5 has stripped back any branding bias so as to challenge traditional whisky tasting, redefining it as something immersive, interactive and modern. With a tech-savvy, digitally sophisticated approach to flavour and design sensibility that provides an elevated boutique experience, DRAM5 offers a fresh take on more traditional whisky labels.

The whiskies in each DRAM5 box are sourced from both celebrated and boutique distilleries across Scotland, drawn from individually selected casks. Each whisky is chosen for its character, provenance and uniqueness.

Limited to only 6,000 boxes, every single cask whisky in the collection is exclusive to DRAM5 and cannot be purchased anywhere else.

Included in each of the DRAM5 mystery boxes are a surprise combination of premium, rare and ultra rare expressions, with 3,600 boxes containing only premium drams from distilleries in Scotland such as Benriach, Blair Athol, Craigellachie, Glenrothes, Glenturret and Laphroaig, to name a few. A further 2,100 boxes include a rare single cask whisky within the selection from distilleries such as Ben Nevis and Glen Grant, with whiskies aged for at least 27 years.

The remaining 300 boxes include ultra rare drams, such as an Ardbeg 34yo, a Littlemill 36yo or a Macallan 34yo. This mix of ultra rare, rare and premium whiskies in every DRAM5 box will ensure you enjoy a unique, exciting and unpredictable tasting experience.

Accompanying the release, DRAM5 has introduced a digital collectors programme for the tech-savvy collector of today. “Capture the Moment, Collect the Story” is a dynamic collector’s programme that is accessible via the DRAM5 app. Users can access information on the tasting profile of each specific whisky and the distillery it originates from. You can also upload a photo of each bottle you have unlocked from your box and build your very own digital archive, record tasting notes, track where and when it was enjoyed, giving you not only a digital list but also a curated personal flavour vault.

DRAM5’s packaging has earned reputable design accolades, which include recognition from the Muse Design Awards and a Gold Award the iF Design Award 2025.

With its bold expression of contemporary design that fuses modern minimalism with tactile luxury, it brings a refreshing playfulness to the traditional world of Scotch whisky. The exterior of the box and carefully curated interior reflects a celebration of both innovation and heritage.

Be it the perfect Christmas gift or dinner party talking point accessory, this release marks a fresh approach to the appreciation of Scotch whisky, where rarity, exploration and sensory discovery come together in a somewhat different format that is designed to challenge and delight both experienced collectors and curious newcomers alike. So, if you would like to explore one of DRAM5’s blind boxes, which retail for £95.00, please visit: www.dram5.com or pop into a select premium retail stockist.
