Have you ever wanted to rent a car that’s a little bit different than the run of the mill rental cars you can pick up when arriving at an airport? After all you’re going to probably have that car for a week or two and if you’re in the United States, the chances are you will be using your rental car a lot to get around.
Well, Hertz are now giving you the opportunity to rent something just a little bit special that has some real grunt, particularly if you are race car fan like me.
Continuing their partnership with 12-time NASCAR Cup Series champions Hendrick Motorsports, who they have been working with since 2018 as a primary sponsor of race driver William Byron and his iconic No. 24 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 team in the NASCAR Cup Series, Hertz has introduced a new “pace car” to its fleet of cars by making a limited-edition custom 2020 Camaro ZL1 and 2020 Camaro SS available to reserve and rent in the USA.
As a result, you can now choose to rent a 2020 Hertz-Hendrick Motorsports Camaro ZL1 and 2020 Hertz-Hendrick Motorsports Camaro SS, which are designed in the signature Hertz yellow and black colour scheme with custom wheels, interior badging and full performance upgrades outfitted by NASCAR’s most successful team.
Last month, a limited 224 custom Camaros became available in Hertz airport locations in select cities around the United States, which included Charlotte, North Carolina, Dallas, Texas, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Ft. Myers, Florida, Houston, Texas, Las Vegas, Nevada, Los Angeles, California, Miami, Florida, Nashville, Tennessee, Orlando, Florida, Phoenix, Arizona, San Diego, California, San Francisco, California and Tampa, Florida.
Hertz-Hendrick Motorsports Camaro ZL1
The 2020 Hertz-Hendrick Motorsports Camaro ZL1 is fitted with a 6.2 litre V8 engine, giving it some 750 horsepower to play with thanks to the larger Callaway Supercharger. It is shod with custom Hertz wheels, custom Hertz lighted door sill plates, embroidered headrests with Hertz-sponsored Hendrick Motorsports driver William Byron’s signature and the No. 24 team logo, Hertz bumper badges and a Hertz-Hendrick Motorsports plaque signifying the individual numbering of the 24 custom Camaros.
Hertz-Hendrick Motorsports Camaro SS
The 2020 Hertz-Hendrick Motorsports Camaro SS comes with a 480 horsepower 6.2 litre V8 engine and is shod with 20-inch satin black wheels. The Performance Upgrade Package includes a Chevrolet Cold Air Intake and Chevrolet Cat-back Dual Exhaust Upgrade System. It also has a custom exterior graphics package which includes a strut tower bar with Hendrick Motorsports branding, custom Hertz lighted door sill plates, embroidered headrests with the No. 24 team logo and William Byron’s signature, Hertz bumper badges and a Hertz-Hendrick Motorsports plaque signifying the individual numbering of the 200 custom Camaros.

NASCAR Homelands Roads Trip Planner Route
When visiting a new country and renting a car, finding you way around is not always that easy and so Hertz have made available their Hertz American Road Trip Planner, which is a free online resource bringing together 34 bespoke routes across the USA. It provides you with a host of iconic and off-the-beaten track routes with downloadable maps and insiders’ guides to the best places to stop as well as significant landmarks and sights, historical and cultural locations and little-known attractions. All you have to do is choose a region of the USA and select from a range of different interests. You can pick family, culture, food, nature, history and shopping. Hertz will then suggest routes and give the distance, number of stops and estimated journey time, along with a step-by-step guide describing each carefully chosen stop.
If you are a NASCAR fan however, you may like to try Hertz’s recently launched ‘NASCAR Homelands’ route on their Hertz American Road Trip Planner. The route begins at the world-famous Daytona International Speedway in Florida and ends at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina, covering some of NASCAR’s most recognisable racetracks, museums as well as the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
