As travellers, we all have our own ideas of what makes for an ideal holiday, some prefer to travel in style and stay in top luxury hotels, while others are quite happy to fly cattle class and stay in more rustic accommodation, saving their cash for other things, like eating out.
Well a dynamic new premium travel agency for the LGBTQ+ community was launched last week, offering holidaymakers a distinctive ‘Two Voices, Your Choices’ approach to travel. Huben Travel is the brainchild of Surrey-based husbands Hugh and Ben Eddon-Carruthers.
Huben Travel specialises in tailor-making personalised, high-quality travel itineraries that include two sets of recommendations for clients, which reflects Hugh and Ben’s different interests and preferred travel styles.
“Most travellers, and especially couples, have learned that the perfect holiday is usually about compromise,” says Ben. “We’ll take the time to get to know the customer, listen closely to their requirements, do our research and come up with the perfect itinerary for them. Then Hugh and I will add our own very different ideas of things they might want to do along the way.”
At the outset, each new Huben Travel customer will be asked to complete an optional quick and easy travel personality questionnaire so that Hugh and Ben can learn more about the customer’s specific holiday needs and interests. This helps Hugh and Ben research appropriate holiday options and present each customer with a bespoke itinerary that includes two sets of recommendations for them to choose between.
“We call it ‘Two Voices, Your Choices’,” explains Hugh. “Ben’s all about nature, relaxing by the pool and going with the flow, while I love a schedule, the buzz of a city and making sure we tick off all the iconic attractions.
“Most couples and even families are the same – a holiday is only great if everyone loves it. By taking this dual approach we’ll be able to offer our clients a variety of practical ideas to turn their own trips into holidays-of-a-lifetime.”
Both Hugh and Ben have many years of travelling the world under their belts, but their travel experiences convinced them that there was a gap in the market for a premium LGBTQ+ travel service. They therefore decided to create their own dedicated agency with a clear vision to provide the LGBTQ+ community with travel that has been crafted for them, by them or with them in mind.
Knowing that the smallest details often make the biggest difference, Hugh and Ben will only craft travel itineraries that they would be happy to go on themselves, and will only recommend destinations and products that offer their clients a safe, welcoming and inclusive holiday experience.
“In the current travel climate, it’s never been more important to book with a travel agent who understands what you need and can offer you a truly personalised, tailor-made experience,” adds Ben. “We’re looking forward to creating many memorable holidays for our fellow LGBTQ+ travellers.”
