DOXA SUB 300T Clive Cussler Edition with stainless steel bracelet

DOXA have just launched the SUB 300T Clive Cussler Edition in honour of the brand’s long time inspiration, famed maritime explorer and novelist Clive Cussler, with this special edition watch in his name.

The famous American adventure novelist wrote over 85 books, selling more than 100 million copies. Along the way he discovered dozens of shipwrecks through the non-profit organisation, the National Underwater and Marine Agency he created. Cussler’s books have been adapted for the big screen twice in ‘Raise of the Titanic’ in 1980 and ‘Sahara’ in 2005.

Cussler’s novels have been highly influential in spotlighting DOXA to the world, in particular, the brand’s famous orange dial being monumental in coming to renowned fictional adventure hero, Dirk Pitt’s aid, enabling the adventurer to read the time accurately while diving on his deadline-driven missions.

In the same way that Cussler’s novels explored historical mysteries, transporting characters on epic quests, the author, explorer and personal DOXA wearer inspired DOXA to reimagine the SUB 300T, with an artistic and historical look to the series.

Staying true to the collection’s core characteristics, the SUB 300T Clive Cussler has an original handmade dial evoking a vintage compass, along with the use of an aged steel appearance that has been applied to the watch, bracelet, clasp and pin buckle, giving it a weathered look.

The DOXA SUB 300T Clive Cussler Edition is not just a timepiece but also a symbol of adventure and discovery, as well as a reminder of the mysteries that lie beneath the waves and the treasures still waiting to be uncovered.

Each new timepiece is engraved discreetly with its own individual number on the side of the bezel to indicate its authenticity. The watch case is 42mm in diameter and is 14mm thick. It features a special design that captures the Cussler identity and commemorates the author’s birthday of July 15th, 1931, as the dates 7, 15, and 31 are displayed in red on the dial.

Water resistant to 120 ATM (1,200 metres), the watch has a Swiss mechanical automatic movement and power reserve of 38 hours. It also comes with an additional beige NATO strap.

CEO of DOXA Jan Edöcs, commented:

“Cussler’s internationally famed novels were a natural platform for DOXA watches, highlighting them as essential tools for his heroic characters. DOXA’s famous orange dial dive watch continues to be a fixture for his fictional adventure hero Dirk Pitt, accompanying him on his many daredevil adventures under the sea.”

The new DOXA SUB 300T Clive Cussler Edition is now available to purchase from £2,590 at select retailers and at the e-shop on the official DOXA website: www.doxawatches.com.
