Duckworth Prestex x Scottish Watches Limited Edition Parker

Duckworth Prestex x Scottish Watches Limited Edition Parker

Bolton based British watch brand Duckworth Prestex recently announced a special partnership with the acclaimed Scottish Watches podcast to create a rather exclusive, limited edition version of the Parker, which was the watch created to mark 100 years of the Prestex name.

For those of you unfamiliar with the Scottish Watches podcast, it is a leading voice in the world of horology, celebrated for its engaging discussions, in-depth reviews and expert insights into the watch industry, fronted by Rikki and Dave.

Neil Duckworth, Duckworth Prestex’s founder has been a frequent guest on the podcast, so it seemed only natural to create a watch together in celebration of Burns Night, a popular date in the calendar around much of the UK.

The new timepiece has been designed to celebrate the shared passions for style, craftsmanship and heritage with a subtle nod to Scotland’s national flag, the Saltire, that can be seen in the design with the blue-on-blue Saltire flag motif. This helps to balance a somewhat understated elegance with a distinctive character. In addition, inspiration for this unique timepiece has been drawn from iconic Scottish symbols and themes, whilst still managing to produce a practical, modern aesthetic.

Retaining the refined simplicity of the Prestex Parker, the Duckworth Prestex x Scottish Watches Limited Edition Parker incorporates some fresh new elements that set it apart, such as the Saltire, slim baton markers in place of numerals, silver hands that contrast with the blue dial and a circular small seconds dial. Differing from the Parker which has a rectangular sub-seconds design, the new design introduces a circle of dots which adds another elegant and contemporary touch.

The case back is also engraved with a special edition logo to celebrate the Scottish Watches partnership, along with a limited edition number out of 100.

Neil Duckworth commented:

“We’ve actually spoken about this limited edition watch since early last year. Rikki remarked that the rectangular case shape particularly lends itself to having a flag on the dial. But some of us thought that a blue and white Saltire was probably not right as a base. So, Rikki suggested blue on blue, and from there we had to adapt the handset, numerals, and dial architecture to suit this design. We’ve ended up with a true collector’s item, showcasing sophisticated simplicity to ensure it remains versatile and timeless. We think it’s a fitting tribute to the brilliant Scottish Watches podcast.”

Rikki Daman from Scottish Watches added:

“Having known Neil for many years, and then been fortunate enough to have him as a guest on the podcast for almost as many, we both wondered how come we’d never done this earlier? So, I’m glad that we’ve finally managed it now, and the result is absolutely stunning. I’m very sure that these watches won’t be hanging around for very long!”

Limited to only 100 pieces, the Duckworth Prestex x Scottish Watches Limited Edition Parker commemorative watch is priced at £495, available to order on the Duckworth Prestex website: www.duckworthprestex.com and for more information about the Scottish Watches channel, please visit: www.scottishwatches.co.uk.
