Eight years ago, Swiss watch manufacturer Maurice Lacroix launched the AIKON, an urban-themed watch fitted with a quartz movement and a design inspired by the CALYPSO which was a popular model produced by the company back in the 1990s. The watch has evolved since the first AIKON model went on sale, with improved finishes as well as new colours and sizes.

While the company has adopted a continuous improvement philosophy, it has never wavered from delivering high perceived value, an attribute that Maurice Lacroix wearers appreciate and value.

With this in mind, Maurice Lacroix has just unveiled three new AIKON Quartz editions that include two 35mm sizes with diamond-set indexes as well as a larger 40mm model fitted with plain rhodium-plated hour markers.

The creation of the new AIKON Quartz all began with a mood board, a tool that is often used for initial inspiration. But this time the design team decided to look beyond the snow-clad Swiss mountains and imagined relaxing times in Florida, where pastel blue waters lap against the sun kissed sands and Art Deco buildings of the sunshine state and chilled-out days give way to fun-filled nights partying under the stars. The four words ‘glitz’, ‘glamour’, ‘sparkle’ and ‘warmth’ were scribbled on a flip chart within the design studio when creating this new watch which very much remind you of Florida.

The 35mm stainless steel AIKON Quartz is available in either Sunset Pink or Deep Sky Blue, two hues that evoke thoughts of fun-filled moments in the sunshine, while the diamond-set indexes sparkle in the moonlight, a time when thoughts turn to romance. The 40mm stainless steel case model has a Deep Sky Blue dial. But no matter what the time of the day is, all three versions of the AIKON Quartz look elegant and sophisticated.

All three AIKON Quartz watches are fitted with a 5-rows stainless steel bracelet and come with Maurice Lacroix’s Easy Strap Exchange system, which means you can swap the strap for an alternative without the need for any special tools. In fact, both the case and bracelet have a refined blend of brushed and polished surfaces to give a rather sumptuous and elegant appearance.

The two 35mm special edition watches are priced at £1,200 while the 40mm edition costs £1,100. For more information and to purchase one of these beautifully crafted watches, please visit: www.mauricelacroix.com.
