MONDAINE Launches Vegan Grape Leather Straps

MONDAINE, the premium, Swiss, carbon neutral watch brand, has just introduced their most recent sustainable innovation to their iconic Classic Collection. You can now get a MONDAINE watch with a choice of brand new vegan grape leather straps, made with high-quality composite grape material.

Mondaine Watch Ltd. was founded by Erwin Bernhein back in 1951 and currently has four brands that include MONDAINE, Luminox, + WATCH and Pierre Cardin, and is still a family owned company.

Without increasing the price of a new watch, MONDAINE has created a range of upcycled watches that retain the classically stylish look of the original MONDAINE timepieces that were first created in 1986.

MONDAINE watches with vegan grape leather straps

MONDAINE worked with Italian manufacturer VEGEA™, who have expertly crafted the new vegan straps to ensure that they possess the high-quality look and feel of MONDAINE’s original leather straps. This has been done through an innovative upcycling process, utilizing the organic waste of wine production that includes the stems, seeds and skins of the grapes, to make grape leather. The resulting product is particularly soft and comfortable to wear and complements the MONDAINE Classic Collection timepieces beautifully.

The new vegan grape leather strapped watches are available in a variety of case sizes, in both brushed or polished stainless steel, with either a brown or black vegan grape leather strap, featuring the signature striking red lining MONDAINE is known for. The new watches also retain the iconic MONDAINE red crown, red second hand and familiar white dial.

These new classic MONDAINE timepieces combine sustainability, versatility and style and are perfect for anyone who appreciates both timelessness and innovation in the watch they wear, and are available to buy at Johnlewis.com, Cwsellors.co.uk, Francisandgaye.co.uk, Firstclasswatches.co.uk and Simpkinsjewellers.co.uk, priced from £189 to £209.
