Following the opening of Nespresso’s new flagship boutique in London’s Covent Garden at the beginning of May, Nespresso has just opened a new boutique in Edinburgh’s bustling St James Quarter, bringing immersive coffee experiences to one of the UK’s most vibrant coffee-loving cities.
Located in the centre of Scotland’s capital, St James Quarter is a new lifestyle district in Edinburgh’s City Centre with a stunning shopping galleria that houses 80 brands such as Boss, Coach, H Beauty, Space NK, Zara, Pull and Bear as well as a diverse mix of restaurants and bars that include Duck and Waffle and Gordon Ramsay Street Burger, a boutique Everyman Cinema, a Roomzzz Aparthotel and W Edinburgh.
With St James Quarter now being a leading destination to shop, dine and stay in Scotland, it made sense to open the new Nespresso boutique here.
The new 109 square metre boutique is located on Level 3 and has a modern, refreshing and vibrant look to it, with the inviting, bright and airy interior being similar in design to the new Covent Garden boutique.
The St James Boutique has a ‘Coffee as an Art’ bar, where coffee lovers can discover the craft of coffee as well as sample new seasonal flavours and enjoy learning new recipes with masterclasses hosted by the experienced Nespresso team.
Also on display in the boutique are Nespresso’s full range of machines and accessories. There is also a space dedicated to coffee pod recycling, an important part of Nespresso’s commitment to circularity and ethical sourcing.
Chris Pyne, Leasing Director for St James Quarter, commented:
“The signing of Nespresso for its sole Edinburgh store is yet more evidence St James Quarter is Scotland’s go-to for globally renowned names. Nespresso will add a premium lifestyle option to our unique line-up of aspirational brands, reinforcing the Quarter’s position as Edinburgh’s prime pitch.”
Nespresso carried out a study recently that analysed average monthly searches for different types of coffee types across cities in the UK. The most popular city was Bath with 3,452 searches, followed by Edinburgh with 3,051 searches. Surprisingly, London only came third with 2,892 searches. Truro was fourth with 2,777 searches and Manchester fifth with 2,621 searches.
So, the opening of Nespresso’s new boutique goes to reinforce Scotland and Edinburgh’s strong coffee culture, as the city continues to grow its reputation as a destination where you can enjoy premium experiences.
Anna Lundstrom, CEO of Nespresso UK&I, said:
“With Edinburgh ranking as the second most passionate coffee city in the UK, and first in Scotland, opening our boutique here feels like a natural step. At Nespresso, we aim to create boutique spaces that bring to life our commitment to innovation, memorable coffee experiences, and the craft of coffee. The new St James Quarter boutique is the perfect place to bring these values to life. Situated in the heart of Edinburgh, this inviting space will allow coffee lovers to discover new blends, connect over meaningful experiences, and further celebrate their passion for exceptional coffee.”
The St James Boutique is open Monday to Saturday from 9:00am to 8:00pm and on Sunday from 10:00am to 6:00pm.
