Sustainability in a Bottle

French apple brandy is now being served up in a paper bottle in a bid to bring sustainability to the spirits industry.

Pioneering environmentally conscious brand Avallen has launched its unique bottle at upmarket department store Harvey Nichols.

And now lovers of Avallen Calvados can drink easy knowing they are helping the environment at the same time.

Distributed in the UK by premium spirits distributor Mangrove UK, the bottle is great for the refreshing and completely natural Calvados.

The bottle is available at Harvey Nichols until the end of November, priced £35 and then will go on sale at other outlets as we as via Avallen’s own website.

Far more robust than glass and six times lighter and weighing in at just 82 grams, this type of packaging will minimise glass usage in the future and significantly reduce the brand’s carbon footprint, which will be no less than six times lower than the average glass alternative.

Cleverly, Avallen has ensured the design of the bottle remains beautifully detailed, with a colourful and intricate design which wraps the whole product and showcases the existing Avallen Calvados brand.

The brand itself reflects, not only the sustainable credibility that makes it a popular choice with conscious consumers, but also the delicate, floral and fruity flavours which Calvados drinkers just love. Importantly the price is the same for the paper bottle as the glass one.

The paper bottle housing Avallen’s delicious Calvados spirit is made from 94 per cent recycled paper, with a food grade pouch inside that ensures the spirit inside is safe.
