Film and Fizz at One Aldwych

After such a wonderful hot summer here in London this year, there is now a distinct autumnal feel to the mornings and its now depressingly dark by 8:00pm for those of you, who like me, love those long summer days and light evenings.

Whilst summer is by far my favourite season, autumn also has a rather special feel to it as you know those cosy winter evenings are just around the corner when you can curl up in front of the television in the evening and watch a film and not feel guilty.

Film and Fizz at Indigo

With this in mind, One Aldwych have released their new season of Film and Fizz in partnership with Curzon Cinemas to get us ready for those short winter days.

So, if you are looking to treat your other half to an evening out that is a little bit different and original, then I can thoroughly recommend a film, dinner and some fizz at One Aldwych.  For a very reasonable £55.00 per person, you can enjoy a glass of Lallier Grand Réserve, a superb three-course dinner at the hotel’s fabulous Indigo restaurant and then take in a great blockbuster movie in the hotel’s very comfortable 30-seat private screening room.

Film and Fizz main course

The whole system was upgraded fairly recently, so you can enjoy your movie in glorious digital HD paired with a 7.1 Dolby Surround Sound System.  I have to say the last film I watched after the revamp had a very realistic effect in vibrant colours and combined with the crystal-clear sound made you feel you were almost right there with the characters in the movie!

The specially prepared Film and Fizz menu in Indigo, overlooking the hotel’s Lobby Bar and headed up by Executive Chef Dominic Teague, celebrates the best of British, with the emphasis on simple and seasonal dishes, which are incidentally, all dairy and gluten-free.  Highlights from the menu include hand-rolled tagliatelle, braised rabbit leg in red wine and port with wild mushrooms.  The menu also features a Breast of Yorkshire pheasant, butternut squash, crispy potato and poached blackberries as a main course and delicious roasted black figs, pistachio cake and vanilla ice cream to round off your meal.
