The Lister Motor Company has confirmed that it will build the world’s fastest SUV in the guise of the new Lister LFP, based on the Jaguar F-Pace.
Although full details of the new SUV are still under wraps, Lister are saying that their new SUV, announced hot on the heals of the new 666bhp Lister LFT-666 Coupé, based on the Jaguar F-Type, will generate around 670bhp, probably from Jaguar’s 5.0-litre supercharged V8. It will reach an estimated to speed of 200 mph with a 0-60 acceleration time of just 3.5 seconds, which is some doing for a large SUV.
The SUV’s lightening performance will in part be achieved by extensive use of carbon fibre modifications to the body, but this will not come cheap. You can expect prices to be around the £140,000 mark. Lister are already accepting orders from eager customers with the first deliveries of the Lister LFT-666 expected in October this year on Lister’s limited run of just 99 cars.
Lister is Britain’s oldest surviving racing car company, which is 65 years old this year, and named as the fastest-growing firm in the motor industry sector in 2017, which is a highly competitive sector, and has continued that success into the first quarter of 2018. Lister will also be launching its new Lister Tuning Division that will be based in Lancashire in the North West of England.
Lawrence Whittaker, CEO of the Lister Motor Company, says “I am delighted, overwhelmed and gratified by the huge level of interest, excitement and orders our LFT-666 supercar has already generated in just a few months. Based on early indications, our new LFP promises to repeat the success of the LFT-666, and I really can’t wait to reveal the world’s fastest SUV quite soon.”
“We kicked-off 2018 were we left 2017, as the UK’s fastest-growing company in the competitive motor industry business sector, according to leading independent financial analysis specialists, Plimsoll. Over the past six months the Lister Motor Company has been working very hard, developing our Tuning Division, starting with modifying the Jaguar F-Type, the Lister LFT-666, and setting up our new headquarters in Lancashire. The imminent release of our new monster killer LFPpromises to see this healthy situation continue for the remainder of this year, and beyond.”
Full details of the new Lister LFP, including final specifications are to be released in the coming weeks. But for more information please visit www.lister.com and for a teaser as to what you might expect from the new Lister LFP, take a look at the video below of the brand-new Lister LFT-666 Coupé.
