Atzaró Agroturismo, Ibiza

Atzaró Agroturismo is a luxurious agritourist hotel in the centre of Ibiza. Oozing what is described as ‘natural luxury’ it has a quiet elegance found in an understated authentic charm. Housed in a 300-year-old finca or farm, Atzaró has been family-owned for centuries and retains an intimate feel with black and white family portraits on the wall. The farm was converted into a 24-room hotel and renovated in 2003. This winter it will be relaunched with what the hotel calls an ‘Ottolenghi’ style rustic chic.

You find surprises around every corner here. Atzaró has its own design company which is responsible for the unique handmade décor which includes sculpture, objets d’art, Moroccan doors and lanterns. The result is an eclectic and charming mix of styles which gives the property a distinctive quirky character.

Atzaro Spa

The whitewashed rooms are dotted around 10 hectares of orange groves, lush gardens, pools and terraces. The focal point is the 43-metre fresh water pool with oversize sun loungers on either side leading to the yoga studio, juice bar Hamman and spa. Beyond is the still working farm and my eye was drawn to a small sauna pod sitting next to the vegetable garden. Atzaró has an exhibition space featuring art and photography events and its luxurious open spaces lend themselves to weddings and functions.

Atzaro Guestroom

There are 24 rooms and suites. Each has thick walls and Sabina wooden beams and giant four poster beds with floaty white drapes. My room had a lovely outdoor bath area perfect for taking a luxurious soak with the scent of orange blossom in the air. There are TVs and iPads in the room, artisan toiletries and free Wi-Fi throughout and I found all the staff at the hotel to be friendly and obliging.

Atzaro Veranda Restaurant

There are a number of dining options at Atzaró including the beautiful La Veranda and garden restaurant The Orange Tree serving Mediterranean food grown in its own gardens. The Atzaró Group also runs the nearby Aubergine Restaurant in the Santa Gertrudis countryside serving farm to table food in a rural setting.

Atzaro Beach Dining

Atzaró Beach offers great sea views and seafood in a stylish beach club atmosphere. You can even take a cookery class and enjoy some wine tasting if you feel so inclined.
