Duckworth Prestex Introduces Green Dial Verimatic Model

Duckworth Prestex Green Dial Verimatic

Bolton based British watch brand Duckworth Prestex recently introduced a vibrant green fumé dial to its classic Verimatic model lineup for the first time, adding to the existing range of orange, blue and black Verimatic dials, giving you a choice of four colourways to choose from.

The new green dial is the latest innovation added to the Verimatic range, which was Duckworth Prestex’s first model as a revival brand. It uses original design cues from the very first Duckworh Prestex pocket watches of the 1920s, which were subsequently incorporated into the distinctive cushion case wristwatches that were first seen in 1939.

The watch design has however evolved to improve visibility and good looks and is now printed on a bevelled ring that sits on top of the dial, which enhances the timepiece’s contrast and legibility. However, the same train track minute ring has been carried over, as well as the same numerals in Duckworth Prestex’s distinctive Art Deco font.

Housed in a solid stainless steel case that is 39mm in diameter and 11mm thick and giving an impressive 200 metres of water resistance, the fumé dial gives the Verimatic its characteristic vintage look, with a contrasting orange coloured seconds hand adding a striking and contemporary feel and thereby combining the best of both traditional and modern aesthetics.

The new green dial Verimatic watch comes fitted with either a brown Italian suede strap or a vintage tan leather strap. The technical specification remains the same as the original three models launched two years ago, with a Miyota 9039 automatic movement, a sapphire crystal and screw-down winding crown.

Neil Duckworth, Duckworth Prestex’s founder said:

“The Verimatic will always have a very special place in our line-up, but that doesn’t mean that we ever stand still. Our latest interpretation of the evergreen Verimatic features appropriately enough a stunning deep green dial, which sets off the orange seconds hand perfectly. We’ve also introduced some subtle design evolution that further adds to the Verimatic’s enduring appeal.”

The first one hundred of the green fumé Verimatics are now available to order, priced at £595, with delivery of the first orders starting on 20th July.
