Duckworth Prestex Rivington 200 GMT

Duckworth Prestex Rivington 200 GMT with rubber strap

Bolton based British watch brand Duckworth Prestex has just introduced the company’s first GMT watch, the Rivington, which comes with a choice of four striking dial colours: orange, blue, green and black, along with a prominent GMT hand to give it worldwide functionality. All of the four watches feature a black ceramic bezel, framing the 316L solid stainless steel polished and matt 42mm cushion case that is 14mm thick and water resistant to 200m (660 feet).

Despite the very first Prestex watch being built back in the 1920s by the grandfather of the current owner, this particular model is an extremely modern GMT watch that is fitted with renowned Japanese firm Miyota’s advanced 9075 GMT self-winding movement with a 42 hour power reserve and accuracy of -10/+30s per day, which is very much a benchmark in reliability.

This eye-catching new timepiece combines both utility with tradition and contains all the virtues of a contemporary GMT watch with classic styling that is unmistakably Duckworth Prestex.

The Rivington has a distinctive waffle pattern: a contemporary design motif that gives it a unique dimension, along with the graduated shading of the dial and applied quarter Arabic indices and hour markers. The hands are brushed and polished steel with BGW9 lume strip and is encased with a double-domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective underside coating.

The case back is stamped with the Duckworth Prestex logo along with a serial number and is fitted with a stainless steel three-link brushed finished bracelet, with folding clasp and quick-release pins and a rubber strap as an option. For those of you who prefer a leather strap, padded and stitched leather straps are available in black, green, blue and brown with quick-release pins.

The company’s founder Neil Duckworth commented:

“The GMT watch is a classic genre that is more and more relevant in an increasingly connected world. We’ve taken the most distinctive elements of our traditional design language and transplanted them into a state-of-the-art GMT, ready to become a lifetime companion for travellers as well as everyday watch enthusiasts. With a number of striking colours, one of the best movements in the industry, and its unique waffle dial pattern, the Rivington sets new standards for quality and value, ready for a lifetime of loyal service.”

Initially just 80 examples of each colour will be produced, making 320 timepieces in total and priced at priced at £1,100 with a leather or rubber strap, or £1,200 with a steel bracelet. Pre-orders can be placed on the Duckworth Prestex website from 1st September 2023 with the watch available from mid-November.

The Rivington 200 GMT will also be previewed at this year’s WatchPro Salon in London from 10th to 11th November.
