Japanese watch brand Orient Star has launched a new 75th anniversary M45 F7 Small Second model which is limited to just 500 pieces, along with two regular models from the Classic Collection M45, featuring the simplest dials and most compact cases in the collection and therefore ideal for everyday casual and business use.
Orient Star’s Classic Collection M45 features classical designs inspired by the Pleiades star cluster or “Subaru” in Japan, expressing the idea of time’s eternal flow.
Simplicity and compactness very much characterize the M45 F7 Small Second with the limited-edition grey dial model commemorating Orient Star’s 75th anniversary.
The dual-layered dial has hour and minute hands, a power reserve indicator and small seconds hand but no calendar display. The dial’s leaf-shaped hour and minute hands, delicate Roman numerals and railway-track minute scale have a refined sandblast finish, while the iconic power reserve indicator features a matching sandblast finish for visual uniformity which is meant to conjure up the image of stardust or stars gently twinkling in the night sky.
The two regular models feature the same textured finish as the limited edition model but with green and ivory-coloured dials.
All three models have a high-quality 39mm stainless steel (SUS316L) case that is only 11.7mm thick, which means that the compact size fits comfortably under a shirt or jacket sleeve. At their heart is an in-house automatic calibre F7H44 high quality movement, giving stable high accuracy of +15 seconds to -5 seconds per day and a power reserve of 50 hours, which is visible through the sapphire crystal see-through case back. In addition, the 75th anniversary limited-edition model is engraved with the words “Orient Star 75th Anniversary” and serial number on the back.
The dual-curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective SAR-coating on both sides of the glass provides a 99% transmittance rate to add clarity. And all three watches are fitted with a 20mm wide brown leather strap with trifold deployant buckle and push button release.
These three elegant new Orient Star M45 F7 Small Second Models are available to buy from the Orient UK website, priced at £869.99 for the two regular models and £912.99 for the limited edition model.
