Reintroduction of The Hand-Wound Prestex Parker

Prestex Parker Hand-Wound Watch

Bolton based British watch brand Duckworth Prestex recently reintroduced the hand-wound Prestex Parker. This classic vintage style watch takes us back to a time when charm and elegance was far more prevalent in Britain than it is today and is a reminder of when the Prestex Classic was first released back in 1935.

The original Parker design drew its inspiration from Art Deco lines and symmetry. And so too with this latest interpretation which is a mechanical evolution connecting the past with the present.

Whilst the original Parker Quartz was celebrated for its vintage style and accessibility, this latest model expands the idea into something altogether richer, more tactile and perhaps a little more personal.

At its heart is a reliable Swiss ETA Peseux 7001 calibre movement with a power reserve of +42 hours, which can be seen through the small circular sapphire glass on the watch’s case back. The slim and robust hand-wound movement is known for its reliability and artistic refinement.

The new Hand-Wound Prestex Parker is housed in a finely polished rectangular 26mm wide and 42mm lug to lug steel case in a nod to the golden age of British style. Its curved silhouette gently hugs the wrist, giving a comfortable fit, making it ideal for everyday use.

The dial itself has been completely redesigned with new colours and textures whilst retaining the original stylised numerals, rail-track minute indicators and markers that remind us of the 1930s.

Company founder Neil Duckworth commented on this new timepiece by saying:

“The Parker was always close to my heart because it’s named after a dear friend and captures that moment in history when design, culture and craft all came together. This new mechanical version brings that spirit back to life in a more meaningful way. We’ve taken the classic styling and given it a movement worthy of its beauty. There’s something incredibly human about winding your watch: it connects you to time in a way no battery ever could. With this piece, we wanted to offer not just nostalgia, but a renewed experience of what elegance really means.”

The Prestex Parker Manual Wind is fitted with a supple leather strap and is priced at £795, backed by a two-year warranty and 30 day returns window. It is available to buy on the Duckworth Prestex website: www.duckworthprestex.com.
