To coincide with World Oceans Day on 8th June, Spinnaker Watches announced the launch of three limited edition unique timepieces from its best-selling collections in collaboration with the Marine Conservation Society.

The three watches have been reimagined with original illustrations inspired by the diversity and beauty of the ocean’s marine life and include a turtle, whale and giant squid. The Hass, Spence 300 and Cahill 300 are all well-established diving watches, each with over 300m water resistance, Swiss Super-LumiNova and clear cut indexes to help in conditions of low visibility.

This is the second year in a row that Spinnaker is working in aid of, and in conjunction with the Marine Conservation Society (MCS), a UK based charity dedicated to education, advocacy and action to protect the ocean campaigning for clean seas, beaches and the protection of marine life. Through various means that include education, community involvement and collaboration, the MCS helps to raise awareness of the many threats our seas face and promotes individual, industry and government action to protect the marine environment. You can find more information about volunteering and all their various projects on their website: www.mcsuk.org.

“Our ocean covers over 70% of our planet. It provides more than half the oxygen on earth and absorbs nearly a third of all carbon emissions. When you wear this watch, you will be connected to our mission to fight for a cleaner, better-protected, healthier ocean and we are so glad to have you with us.”

Hass Automatic MCS Limited Edition

The Hass Automatic MCS Limited Edition features an MCS-original illustration of the green turtle on its dial. The watch has a 42mm solid stainless steel case and scratch resistant sapphire lens and is water resistant down to 300m. It is fitted with a dual register countdown and time elapsed timer bezel and the index, hands and the turtle illustration on the dial are coated with Swiss Super-Lumi Nova for better visibility in lower light conditions.

It is fitted with a battery free Japanese Automatic, TMI NH35 movement and custom ‘roulette’ style date wheel. The Hass comes with a choice of solid stainless steel bracelet or a Polyethylene Terephthalate nylon NATO strap that is fabricated from recycled discarded plastic.

Spence 300 Automatic MCS Limited Edition

The Spence 300 Automatic MCS Limited Edition features an MCS-original illustration of the blue whale on its dial. Its well-considered design and hand assembled workmanship has resulted in a timepiece that is 40mm in diameter and under 11mm in thickness and capable of over 300m of water resistance. In fact, the case took engineers over a year to perfect.

Thanks to multiple applications of Swiss Super-LumiNova pigment, it is easy to read in low visibility conditions with clear cut indexes and hands. The “broad arrow” handset matches the dial and watch aesthetics perfectly.

The Spence 300 is powered by a 24 Jewel Miyota 9039 automatic movement giving it over 42 hours of power reserve. The solid bracelet is custom designed, engineered and built for a slim, comfortable fit. It also comes with a recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate nylon NATO strap for added versatility.

Cahill 300 Automatic MCS Limited Edition

The Cahill 300 Automatic MCS Limited Edition features an MCS-original illustration of the giant squid on its dial and is a refined and stylish dive watch with a vintage touch. The clear lines and a thoughtful layout of dial elements makes the watch easy to read.

The 43mm stainless steel case is robust yet wearable and gives an impressive 300m of water resistance like the other two watches, making it a nautically robust sports watch for any season.

The classic dial is that of a traditional dive watch with a slightly more adventurous twist and is layered and subtly segmented to add extra depth, balance and clarity. Lumed with Swiss Super-LumiNova, the dial can easily be read in low light conditions.

The Cahill is powered by the reliable Japanese NH35 TMI (Seiko) movement and come with a choice of either a solid stainless steel bracelet with a solid deployant buckle or recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate nylon NATO strap that is comfortable for everyday use.

Each watch is limited to 300 pieces and is available to purchase from Spinnaker-watches.co.uk, priced from £370 to £650 with a  portion of the proceeds from every timepiece being donated to the MCS to support them in their fight for a cleaner, better protected and healthier ocean that we can all enjoy.
