diYachting was founded by Matt and Lizzie Abbiss almost 20 years ago in 2001 and specialises in chartering sailing yachts over 60ft and this month they have announced that their 88ft (26.82m) flagship yacht, Vivid, which was built in 2001, has been fully refurbished and re-fitted and available to charter around the UK from 1st July 2020. Ready in time for the summer season and eager holidaymakers who are longing to escape months of lockdown, this a great opportunity to explore the beautiful English coastline in a fabulous yacht.
Vivid sleeps up to six guests and three crew members and has plenty of space on board to accommodate everyone in comfort. The yacht offers an exceptional on-board service for guests, which includes a private chef and personal butler.
The yacht has had an extensive re-fit to the highest of standards over the last two years, which includes completely refurbished interiors to the boat, new sails as well as upgraded water sport equipment. You’ll find two paddleboards, a wakeboard, a two-person towable ringo, snorkelling equipment and a trawling rod and small rods for fishing enthusiasts.
Vivid is a Jongert 2700 model, with an aluminium hull and superstructure and is fitted with three individually designed guest cabins, all with en-suite bathrooms. Spread across her two decks, she offers a spacious living area with an L shape sofa on one side and dining table for seven on the other. The main deck saloon offering fabulous 360-degree views and can seat up to 10 people. There is a plunge pool on the recessed deck and a unique selection of custom-made marquetry artwork specially commissioned from Saint-Tropez based artist Georges Cabot.
Vivid has a crew of three, which consist of husband and wife Captain Patrick Phelan and Chef Sarah Phelan along with private butler Maritza Friis. The yacht has completed some 150,000 sea miles since 2001 and guests will be in safe hands with Vivid’s experienced Captain Patrick at the helm. You can expect to enjoy gourmet meals as Chef Sarah trained at Corden Blue Cookery School The Wirral. Just some of the things you can enjoy whilst on board, include delicious pecan pancakes with warm rum banana maple syrup for breakfast and a three-course dinners such as seared four seeded Ahi Tuna with wasabi cream and warm chocolate lave cakes with raspberry coulis and vanilla ice cream.
Lizzie Abbiss commented that “We are absolutely thrilled to announce the new itinerary for our flagship Yacht, the beautiful Vivid this Summer which will offer guests a Superyacht experience not normally available in the UK. We pride ourselves on bringing guests unforgettable journeys with exceptional service and we hope this UK itinerary offers guests the chance to explore the South of England by Sea in a remote and isolated setting aboard the newly re-fitted Vivid. With uncertainly around travel restrictions and quarantines, Vivid offers a safe option for those jetsetters who are waiting patiently for their next adventure without having to jet overseas.”
This July Vivid will be exploring the southern coast of England and her itinerary consists of boarding in the Pendennis Marina in Falmouth and from there expeditions include a multitude of options, from day trips to St Mawes, Dartmouth and Exmouth, sailing along the stunning River Exe, Poole and Christchurch, to overnight excursions to the Scilly Isles, the Channel Islands and further afield.
In August guests will board Vivid along The Solent coastline which spans some 241 miles. You will be able to take in the Isle of Wight, stopping off at Cowes and Yarmouth and explore Lymington and the River Beaulieu from the comfort of the yacht. There may also be possible trips to France later in the summer depending on travel restrictions being lifted.
Given the current environment, anyone looking to charter Vivid this summer can rest assured that subtle health and safety measures have been put in place to ensure the comfort and safety of guests and crew as well as flexible cancellation policies.
There is a minimum stay requirement of four nights on board, with prices starting from £20,000, which is an all-inclusive price with the exception of any special fine wines and champagne requests. Weekly rates start from £30,000 all-inclusive.
