The new Barbie movie is on general release at cinemas this weekend, starring Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken, and is directed by Greta Gerwig. It also stars Wil Ferrell.
This film comedy follows Barbie and Ken who are having the time of their lives in the colourful and seemingly perfect world of Barbie Land. They then get the opportunity to go to the real world where they soon discover the joys and perils of living among humans.
We therefore thought we would celebrate the release of the new Barbie movie, which is set to make pink the colour of summer, with some pink cocktails and have a cocktail to make every day this summer “The Best Day Ever!”
Three such fun cocktails are a Rose Martini, a Lychee Martini or a Lychee Daquiri using some of De Kupyer’s Kwai Feh Lychee Liqueur.
Or try out a Barbie-core cocktail like a Kwai Feh Pink Senorita cocktail, for which you will need 25ml Kwai Feh, 25 ml Tequila, 25 ml Triple sec, 10ml Lemon juice and some pink lemonade.
Add the first four ingredients into a shaker filled with ice and shake until chilled. Then strain into a margarita glass or glass of your choice and top up with pink lemonade and finally garnish with a pink rose or other pink edible flowers.
So, raise a rosy-hued glass to the new Barbie film and don’t just think pink; drink pink… but maybe stay off the roller skates!
