Snug Robe’s Big Splash

Pro Change Robe Evo

Dunking your head in the cold waters of the beautiful Black Isle in Scotland can be seriously good for your health.

But it can also be really off-putting, knowing that when you clamber out of the water, chances are the beach is colder than the Moray Firth.

This beautiful peninsula near to Inverness is one of my favourite places to go and swim, a close second to the even colder waters of the North Sea off Alnmouth in Northumbria.

And after testing out the wonderfully warm and snug Pro Change Robe Evo from Red Original, I don’t need to worry any more.

It is like wrapping yourself up in a huge duvet with a hot chocolate and marshmallow lining and is just the ticket after a brisk swim in the UK waters.

On the downside, the fact I raved about it so much, was my downfall, after daughter Flossie (13) decided it was hers to keep, but the upside is she now joins me wild swimming and first out of the water gets the instant warm up.

The firm’s founder John Hibbard set up Red 15 years ago, to encourage more people into the water and his belief that the right equipment goes a long way, is very true.

As well as the robes, the online firm sells paddle boards and all the water accessories you need for a real adventure.

The robe made from new recycled fabric technology and retails at £159.95 is the real ticket. It’s waterproof, breathable and as soft as butter, meaning no matter how cold you are, you soon warm up.

Add the option of a separate compression stash bag and you can carry the robe wherever your swim takes you.

Based on height, rather than build, the robe is a great unrestricted changing room thanks to the concealing length and stretch side panels and has easy hands free changing with multiple secure storage pockets inside and out and zipped inner pockets and outer magnet closers.

With a range of colours, from deep mulberry wine to sea mist, the robes are eye catching as well as practical, with contrasting trims and they come in sizes to fit all.

Knowing you are protecting the environment with the recycled materials, as well as enjoying it, means this robe will have you heading for the water at every possible opportunity, just what founder John wanted.
