What with the warmer weather finally putting in an appearance this weekend and today being World Cocktail Day, I thought we’d take look at something a little different, with three summer cocktails made with Somrus Creams, as they are new to the UK.

Somrus was founded 10 years ago by husband and wife team, Pankaj and Swati Garg and Monica Badlani, who are all of Indian heritage. They saw a gap in the market for a premium Indian-inspired cream and therefore decided to create Somrus, meaning ‘Nectar of the Gods’ in Hindi.

Somrus Creams have a premium rum base, low viscosity, low alcohol by volume (ABV), no preservatives, no artificial flavours and are gluten free, offering a range of rum creams ‘inspired by India and made for the world’ that are extremely versatile for mixing in cocktails, desserts and even ice cream and make for the perfect addition to any at-home bar.

The creams are made with real fresh dairy cream, 5x distilled rum as well as with spices and ingredients commonly found in Indian cuisine including Alphonso mango, cardamom, saffron, pistachios, chicory and rose.

Our first cocktail is the Somrus Mango Colada which is made with 1 part Somrus Mango Cream Liqueur and 3 parts Pineapple Coconut Water, such as Vita Coco. Simply combine the ingredients in an ice-filled Collins glass and stir.

Somrus Mango Cream Liqueur is made with Alphonso Mangoes and pairs well with tequila, vodka, rum and ice cream, making delicious refreshing drinks and tasty and decadent desserts.

Second on our list is the Somrus Mangorita which is a mix of 3 parts Somrus Mango Cream Liqueur, 1 part Tequila and a ¼ part Orange Liqueur. Add the ingredients into an ice filled shaker and shake well before straining into ice filled glass for the perfect summer serve.

Our final cocktail is the Somrus Espresso Martini, a twist on the classic, made with 2 parts Somrus Coffee Cream Liqueur, 1 part Vodka and 1 part Espresso (cooled). Simply add the ingredients into an ice filled shaker and shake vigorously before straining and pouring into a martini glass and garnish with some coffee beans or dust with a little cocoa powder.

Somrus Coffee Cream Liqueur is a silky, creamy mixture of rich roasted coffee notes and chicory, enhanced by handcrafted rum and real dairy cream.

Both Somrus Coffee Cream Liqueur and Mango Cream Liqueur: ABV:15%, retail from £19.99 for a 70cl bottle and are available to buy from Amazon.
