Orient Star M34 F7 Mechanical Moon Phase Limited Editions

Orient Star M34 F7 Mechanical Moon Phase Watch

Orient Star recently unveiled two new watches from their Contemporary Collection M34, with the M34 F7 Mechanical Moon Phase Limited Edition and M34 F7 Semi Skeleton Limited Edition. Only 200 pieces of each model are available.

These two new timepieces have a white mother of pearl dial and gradation that depicts the aurora’s ephemeral light in the dawn sky. Inspiration for the design was taken from the aurora which includes a strong, sharp case shape, a key design feature of the Contemporary Collection M34, named after the star cluster in Perseus.

Key themes of Orient Star are space and the natural world, which can be seen in their “shining star” watches. Last year the brand launched the aurora themed M34 F7 Semi Skeleton, which used its mother of pearl dial and gradation to depict a curtain of colourful light floating in the night sky. The new watches once again explore the aurora but this time with the limited edition M34 F7 Mechanical Moon Phase and M34 F7 Semi Skeleton models.

The designs of the semi skeleton and moon phase timepieces are enhanced by the image of the aurora at dawn. The colour of the mother-of-pearl dial shifts at different angles, while vertical light grey gradation depicts the scene of an aurora floating in the hazy pale-hued atmosphere just before sunrise.

At the heart of the new models is the automatic (with hand winding) in-house calibres F7M65 and F7F44 which provide a high degree of accuracy of +15 seconds to -5 seconds per day and a power reserve of 50 hours. The movements are clearly visible through the see-through sapphire crystal case back which is engraved with limited edition and serial number.

The 40mm high-quality stainless steel case is fitted with a dual curved sapphire crystal lens with anti-reflective coating on both sides of the glass, giving the wearer a clear view of the aurora gradually fading away. The two watches are also practical, being water resistant to 100 metres and the stainless steel bracelet with short pitch H-shaped links, gives a more comfortable and better fit on the wrist.

The two new limited editions are available to buy from the Orient UK website, priced at £1,369.99.
