Saltire Rare Malt Whisky Expands into U.S. Steak House Market

Saltire Rare Malt 14 and 18 year old whisky

Following its debut in the United States last autumn, Scotland’s fastest growing and award-winning independent whisky bottler, Saltire Rare Malt, is strengthening its presence in the United States this year with a new tasting series across New Orleans and Texas. The brand that was named Best Newcomer at the 2025 Scottish Whisky Awards, will be introducing its rare single malts at some of the region’s most celebrated restaurants and dining destinations.

The programme will showcase Saltire Rare Malt’s ultra-rare single cask Scotch whiskies through a series of guided tasting which will bring together Scotland’s rarest malts with some exceptional food and drink experiences where guests will be able to explore whiskies drawn from celebrated distilleries. These will include Dailuaine, Spey, Ardmore and Tormore, as well as Falkland, the company’s sister Speyside single malt brand, with each whisky offering a distinct expression of its distillery and cask to reflect the diversity and craftsmanship of country’s whisky regions.

This US expansion is also part of Saltire Rare Malt’s growing presence within the Steak House Hall of Fame network, following last year’s successful launch, where they are continuing to introduce rare Scotch whiskies to some of America’s most respected dining institutions to celebrate the good old steak house tradition.

The Saltire Rare Malt US tour kicked off last Monday at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse in New Orleans, followed by Texas de Brazil in Dallas the next day before heading to Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse in Houston on Thursday and TPC Houston, a prestigious private members’ golf club, in Sugar Land, yesterday, drawing this first series to a close.

The tastings were all hosted by Saltire Rare Malt Global Brand Ambassador David McCallum, who guided guests through the collection accompanied by stories behind each whisky and the distilleries from which they originate together with the philosophy behind the brand’s cask selection.

Keith Rennie, Co-Founder & Director of Saltire Rare Malt, commented:

“Saltire Rare Malt was created to celebrate the remarkable diversity of Scotland’s distilleries through exceptional single casks. Seeing these whiskies enjoyed in great restaurants across New Orleans and Texas is incredibly exciting for us. It’s a wonderful way to further introduce American whisky lovers to the character, rarity and craftsmanship behind every bottle we release.”

Ron Small, Managing Partner of the Steak House Hall of Fame, added:

“Great steak houses are built on tradition, craftsmanship and an unwavering commitment to quality – values that mirror the world of fine Scotch whisky. Saltire Rare Malt brings remarkable single cask whiskies to the table, and it’s exciting to see these exceptional spirits finding a home in some of America’s most respected dining rooms.”
