Last week a small group of guests gathered at Hacktons Knightsbridge flagship store for an exclusive summer party to celebrate the UK launch partnership of Lady Eliza Spencer’s Provençal rosé, Lala V, which embodies sophistication, grace and modern luxury.
The luxury drinks retailer and whisky cask specialist hosted the event along with Lady Eliza and her partner and fiancé Channing Millerd, marking a major milestone for Lala V, with this superb Côtes de Provence rosé available to buy exclusively through Hackstons here in the UK.
As well as trying the new wine, we were also told about its Provençal origins, the inspiration for the wine and Lady Eliza’s personal story behind the brand, opening her talk by saying:
“Lala V really came from a shared dream between my fiancé Channing and me. We both love rosé, but also everything that surrounds it – travelling, beautiful food, long lunches in the sunshine and bringing the people you love together. We wanted to create something elegant and special, but still fun and never too serious.
“For us, it was about creating a rosé that is genuinely delicious but also has a whole feeling and world around it. It’s elegant and beautifully made, but approachable and fun at the same time. We want Lala V to be associated with beautiful moments and bringing people together.”
She also tells us that travel has played an important role in shaping the world surrounding the brand, adding:
“Travel is a huge source of inspiration for me. I love discovering beautiful places, restaurants and hotels and experiencing different cultures. Some of my happiest memories are from travelling with the people I love, and that feeling has definitely influenced Lala V.”
So, where did the name originate from? Well, Lady Eliza tells us that it has a deeply personal meaning for her and is a combination of a childhood family nickname with references to both her family and the brand’s celebration of life, as she explains:
“It’s incredibly personal. My brother Samuel couldn’t pronounce Eliza when we were little, so he called me “Lala”, and it became a family nickname that has stayed with me ever since. The “V” is for Victoria, my middle name and also my mother’s name, but it also represents vie, meaning “life” in French, which feels so fitting for everything Lala V is about – enjoying life and celebrating beautiful moments.”
Provence’s celebrated winemaking heritage made the region a natural choice for the rosé so that Lady Eliza and Channing could create an authentic, high quality wine.
“For us, Provence was always going to be the home of Lala V. It has such an incredible history and reputation for producing beautiful rosé, and we wanted the wine itself to be authentic and of the highest quality.”
What about the wine itself? Lala V Rosé is pale pink in colour with delicate salmon-hued reflections paired with succulent aromas of ripe peach and bright, vibrant citrus notes. As you’d expect, it is smooth, fresh and beautifully balanced and crisp on the palate and has a refined softness that lingers, making it the perfect elegant wine for every occasion, be it al fresco drinks with friends, an intimate evening or a celebratory toast.
Known for its curated selection of whisky, wine and spirits, Hackstons partnership with Lala V is a natural fit for both brands, with Lady Eliza saying:

The launch of Lala V marks a new chapter for Lady Eliza after many years of working with fashion and luxury brands. She has found it extremely rewarding to create something completely different and seeing her own vision come to life, giving a lot of the credit to Channing, who has played an integral role in bringing their shared vision to life.
“I genuinely couldn’t have done it without Channing. We created Lala V together and our strengths really complement each other. Channing has an incredible creative eye and designed everything from the bottle and logo to the website and visual identity. He’s also very good at keeping me calm when I start worrying about every little detail!”
When asked who she thinks will enjoy Lala V, Lady Eliza very much hopes that each bottle will capture the spirit on which Lala V was founded, saying:
