Non-alcoholic spirit Talonmore has teamed-up with mixologists at Edinburgh’s Nightcap Cocktail Bar and mushroom supplement specialists Antioxi to celebrate World Health Day on Sunday 7th April, by creating the ‘Talonmore Roar’ which is a brand-new deliciously refreshing non-alcoholic cocktail boasting extraordinary health benefits along with some unique characteristics.
Talonmore is 0% ABV and brewed with Scottish water. Fired by the spice of ginger and Assam tea it contains key superfoods including prickly pear and hawthorn berry, both of which have recognised health benefits. Alcohol-free spirits are linked to improved sleep and energy, enhanced memory and a better immune system.
Lion’s Mane is an age-old mushroom with roots in Asia and holds a rich history of culinary and medicinal practices dating back thousands of years. More recently It has gained increased popularity due to its potential mental and physical health benefits. It plays a pivotal role in brain health by supporting memory and cognition, anxiety and mood, nerve tissue health along with improved sleep.
Antioxi specialises in organic certified mushroom supplements with the aim of bringing the spotlight back onto the medicinal benefits of mushrooms. Providing transparency and focus on the genuine health benefits of mushrooms is at the heart of everything the company does.
Crafted by the mixologists at Nightcap Cocktail Bar in Edinburgh, this new cocktail fuses fiery ginger infused Talonmore with Antioxi’s ‘Lion’s Mane’ supplement to create this rather unconventional alcohol-free take on the traditional Dark ‘N’ Stormy cocktail which is normally made with dark rum and ginger beer.
The ‘Talonmore Roar’ showcases the cognitive health and wellbeing benefits provided by both non-alcoholic spirits and mushroom supplements by blending deliciously with light tonic water, while the unique flavour of the Lion’s Mane is complemented with the fruit sweetness of an orange wedge garnish, giving a burst of bubbling, refreshing ginger as you sip on the cocktail.
If you think you would like to try making it at home, you will need 50ml of Talonmore NA Spirit, 1 teaspoon of Antioxi Lion’s Mane, 150ml of light tonic water and an orange wedge for a garnish and it is best served with plenty of ice.
Lewis Kennedy, Managing Director at Talonmore Drinks Company, said:
“Talonmore supports the importance of health and wellbeing. It’s easy to forget that we need to look after our health in order to be the best versions of ourselves. Antioxi’s ideology toward wellbeing is something our team really admires; the company’s extensive research and passion into the medicinal benefits of mushrooms really opened our eyes to what’s possible when creating new cocktails.
“The expert backing of Nightcap helped us gain confidence in the flavours – it was a lot of fun to experiment with different flavours and create the ‘Talonmore Roar’! Served ice-cold with an orange wedge garnish, the cocktail really highlights that distinct ginger flavour that we pride ourselves on, we really want our loyal Talonmore fans to give this cognitive concoction a try.”
