Tucking into the tasty ta’mia with a magical marina as the backdrop must be one of the nicest ways to enjoy an exotic Egyptian breakfast.

And having an eager maître d proud to show off his country’s cuisine and imploring you to try more, sums up the impeccable hospitality of the country’s ultimate luxury destination by the sea, Marassi.

Boasting 11 hotels and resorts to choose from, catering for everyone’s needs and finances, this corner of the North coast in the Sidi Abdel Rahman Bay is simply stunning.

It’s the perfect respite after a visit to nonstop Cairo, the country’s crazy capital, and with 6.5 km of white sandy beach and turquoise waters, it’s a great place to recharge the batteries.

The magnificent buffet breakfasts themselves are worth a visit. The Vida Marina Resort is a popular choice because it’s set in the heart of all the action but a calm aura encouraging rest and relaxation to prepare for lots of fun.

The outdoor infinity pool, with a section just for the kids is a delight and the wellness spa and fitness centre are close by.

Dining is covered by four options from international cuisine, ranging from Thai beef salad to seafood tacos and mushroom linguine served in the SoCal restaurant, to Origins for delights such as grilled seabass fillet and chicken shawarma. Blé is a 24-hour, Parisian-inspired café and pastry lounge and offers snacks by the pool.

The hotel is decorated to show off its marina style. Think cool colours, light furniture and spacious lounges.
