Uniworld Announces 46-night Cruise Through Nine Countries

Uniworld Boutique River Cruises has revealed plans for a 46-night trip covering nine countries aboard five of its Super Ships – three of them brand new.

Combined with a land tour, it is the longest-ever itinerary offered by the luxury line and echoes an all-new trend in river cruise companies offering the equivalent of an oceangoing world cruise. Departing in May 2023, the Rivers of the World journey will take passengers from Cairo to Lisbon on the boutique ships, each individually designed to reflect the destinations in which they sail.

Earlier this year AmaWaterways announced plans for 45 and 46-night European sailings in the spring and summer of 2023.

Uniworld’s epic journey begins in the home of the world’s first river cruises, Egypt, with a celebratory pre-cruise event and two-night land stay in Cairo, followed by a week-long cruise on the brand new super ship S.S. Sphinx. Passengers will then fly into the Swiss Alps with two nights in in the lakeside town of Lugano, followed by two nights in Milan prior to boarding the new S.S. La Venezia for a week-long cruise along the Venice Lagoon and Po River. Next, guests will continue to Hungary and sail on the S.S. Maria Theresa from Budapest to Passau before boarding the S.S. Joie de Vivre in France to sail along the Seine. The itinerary will finish in Portugal with a cruise along the Douro on the new S.S. Sao Gabriel following by a three-night land stay in Lisbon and farewell party.

Itinerary highlights include a visit to the UNESCO-protected temples of Abu Simbel in Cairo; exploring Schonbrunn Palace, the former imperial summer residence during the reign of Maria Theresa in Vienna; experiencing the Moulin Rouge show in Paris; and a day in the Portuguese beach town of Cacais and town of Sintra.
