The 44th Ryder Cup got under way today at the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Guidonia Montecelio, northeast of Rome and Kentucky based Elijah Craig has announced the one-time release of its Small Batch Bourbon specially packaged to commemorate the 2023 Ryder Cup. This follows the announcement of a multi-year partnership earlier this year, making the Bourbon brand the “Official Bourbon” and a worldwide supplier of the biennial competition.

Elijah Craig is in fact the first distiller to char oak barrels to make Bourbon, making them known as “The Father of Bourbon”. Today Heaven Hill Master Distillers’ expertise and attention to detail give Elijah Craig Small Batch just the right balance of full body and rich flavour with each Small Batch carrying a signature warm spice and subtle smoke flavour.

Bottled at 94 proof, Elijah Craig Small Batch has a delightfully complex aroma with notes of vanilla bean, sweet fruit and fresh mint. Add to that tasting notes of an initial woodiness on the palate accented by spice, smoke and nutmeg, it makes for a finish that is long, sweet and slightly toasty.

Commenting on the release Bryan Fallon, Managing Director, Heaven Hill International said:

“We are thrilled to raise a glass to the 2023 Ryder Cup with this commemorative release of Elijah Craig Small Batch. We look forward to celebrating this storied event over a glass of Elijah Craig come September.”

Ryder Cup Director, Guy Kinnings added:

“Elijah Craig’s award-winning Bourbon is going to further elevate the spectator experience in Rome, and their new limited edition bottle will both taste incredible and become a sought-after souvenir commemorating the greatest team contest in golf.”

Each limited edition bottle has a neck label featuring the Ryder Cup trophy, a tag detailing the partnership between Elijah Craig Bourbon and the Ryder Cup, and a face label featuring the “Official Bourbon” designation and Ryder Cup logo.

Elijah Craig is not new to the golf world, as it is also known as the Official Bourbon and Whiskey Supplier of the PGA of America, PGA Championship, KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, as well as an official partner of the PGA National Club Championship. It is also “The Official Bourbon” of PGA TOUR Professional Golfer Max Homa, sports broadcaster Amanda Balionis-Renner and the AT&T Pebble Beach Tournament.
