1. North Coast 500

This 500 mile loop begins and ends in Inverness, the capital of the highlands, following the main roads along the edge of northern Scotland. Explore hidden coves and deserted beaches, climb rugged cliffs topped with crumbling castles and discover amazing wildlife including dolphins, seals, stags and Highland cows.
2. Atlantic Highway
At the other end of the country, you have a 170 mile route along the coast through Devon and Cornwall that offers exceptional views of the Atlantic Ocean.
This area is a network of fishing villages with old smugglers’ coves, harbour towns with pretty white-washed houses and wide sandy beaches suited to families and surfers.
Visit during the first two weeks of August to experience the iconic Boardmasters Festival, an annual event with live music and surfing and skateboarding competitions held in Newquay.
3. Pembrokeshire Coast 200
Seeking a romantic getaway with your other half? Spend a long weekend winding your way along the Pembrokeshire Coast, a designated national park recognised for its stunning natural scenery.
This route gives you plenty of opportunity to indulge in thrilling water sports and adventure activities like kayaking, rock climbing and mountain biking. Equally rewarding but infinitely more restful is to walk parts of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path which has no shortage of spectacular views.
4. Causeway Coastal
Running from Belfast to Derry, the Causeway Coastal is a sensational way to see the best of the Northern Irish coastline.
The spectacular seascapes are the highlight of this drive, although there are plenty of things to do in the capital of Northern Ireland before you set off. Look out for the Giant’s Causeway, a National Trust nature reserve made magical by myth and iconic Game of Thrones filming locations.
