Le Grand Café Fauchon Paris Reopens Terrace

Grand Café Fauchon

As countries in Europe continue to ease their lockdowns and social distancing rules, such as in France, which is operating on a more sensible and workable one-metre rule, so cafés and restaurants are starting to reopen again, which is a welcome relief to many people who have been locked down for in some cases as long as three months.

Parisians in particular love to spend time in their local cafés catching up with friends and family, and with this in mind, Fauchon l’Hotel Paris has announced the reopening of its famous Grand Café Fauchon terrace between the hours of 8:00am and 8:00pm, Monday through Sunday.

The Terrace at Le Grand Café Fauchon overlooks the iconic Place de la Madeleine, located in one of the most prestigious arrondissements of Paris, well known for its fashion boutiques, world-renowned restaurants and cultural riches including the famous neoclassical Madeleine Church where of course the square’s name originated from.

The team at Le Grand Café has taken major steps to safeguard its staff and guests, which includes the wearing of gloves and masks by all staff, a one-way circulation system, plenty of alcoholic hand gel, the removal of almost half the tables so that they are placed wider apart, and the replacement of traditional menus with a QI code which, when scanned by your phone or tablet, delivers the menu directly to your own personal device.

Revised menus have been created depending on whether you pop in at the start of the day for some breakfast or a cocktail or two at the end of the day.

The cafés full French Breakfast for example, is priced at 29 euros and comes with an assortment of delicious homemade pastries at 14 euros and fresh fruit bowls at 11 euros.

At lunch and dinner, you will be able to enjoy their weekly specials, priced at 28 euros. Alternatively, there are lighter options available, such as Club Sandwiches. Croque-Monsieur or Croque-Saumon, Burgers and salads from 17 euros.

Cold Meat and Cheese Plates

At the café’s cocktail ‘Glam’ hour, you can enjoy some tasty sharing dishes such as chorizo, Iberico ham, smoked duck breast, tapenades, as well as sharing plates of cheeses and cured meats or fish, all ranging  from between €9 to €24.

A slightly reduced hand-selected wine list of white, red and rosé wines and champagnes are also available, all coming from small French producers.

And although Le Grand Café Fauchon is open, you will have to wait until 1st September for the reopening of Fauchon L’Hotel Paris.
