AVI-8 recently unveiled their new P-51 Mustang Twilight Tear Automatic Limited Edition watch collection which is a testament to history, precision and the unwavering spirit of the Greatest Generation.
This new collection of three watches draws its inspiration from the legendary P-51 Mustang aircraft, “Twilight Tear”, which was seen as a symbol of courage and resilience. The aircraft was delivered to the 78th Fighter Group in Duxford in April 1945, towards the end of World War II, and assigned to Lt. Hubert “Bill” Davis, who named it after his favourite racehorse. Together with “Twilight Tear” Davis achieved remarkable feats and played a pivotal role in the famous raid on Hitler’s Eagle’s Nest.
This limited edition timepiece incorporates real parts from the iconic P-51 “Twilight Tear” 463 864 aircraft, which can be seen through the case back of each watch, giving the collection a unique connection to history. It’s a real tribute to the heroes who piloted this remarkable aircraft and a reminder of their indomitable spirit.
The P-51 Mustang Twilight Tear is fitted with a Japanese automatic 3 hands movement with a date feature. The 43mm stainless steel case is adorned with an anti-reflective sapphire Lens to give both durability and crystal-clear vision. Water resistant to 50 metres, the watch is fitted to a genuine leather strap, and also comes with an additional Velcro nylon strap to give complete versatility as well as a two year warranty.
AVI-8 pledges 5 per cent of Net Sales from this limited edition collection to the Fagen Fighters WWII Museum in a profound gesture of respect and gratitude.
