With the Platinum Jubilee just around the corner, Cotswolds Distillery, based in Stourton, Shipston-on-Stour, are celebrating this momentous occasion with the launch of its commemorative Cotswolds Platinum Jubilee Single Cask Whisky.
This limited-edition Cotswolds Platinum Jubilee Single Cask Whisky has been aged in cask #1952 and has been selected specially to mark the 70th anniversary of Her Majesty The Queen ascending the throne.
The whisky has been matured in a first-fill STR (Shaved, Toasted and Re-Charred) ex-red wine cask, which has resulted in a well-balanced single malt with notes of orange, toffee and dark chocolate.
Limited to just 300 bottles, released to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee, this rather special whisky comes packaged in a luxury gift box to mark what is an historic occasion.
Cask #1952, a first-fill STR ex-red wine cask was filled on 29th April 2016 and bottled on 22nd April 2022. Its nose is sweet with lots of fruit, orange and toffee and has a marzipan, caramel and dark chocolate palate. The finish is very long with light tannin and hay.
The limited-edition Cotswolds Platinum Jubilee Single Cask Whisky retails for £94.95, has an ABV of 55.4% and is available to buy from Cotswolds Distillery online and in the three Cotswolds Distillery shops in Broadway and Bourton-on-the-Water.
