Ice Cool Magnum is Champion

Magnum Cream Liqueur

A Scottish alternative to Bailey’s is proving to be really cool with whisky drinkers.

Magnum is the only cream liqueur which is exclusively crafted and bottled over the border using Scotch malt whisky from Speyside.

And to mark the launch of this smooth drink, the country’s world champion curling team launched it through a new winter wonderland experience in Edinburgh.

The rooftop bar of the iconic Cold Town House is the venue for a pop up centred on the delicious drink, which is a fusion of single malt whisky and cream.

Smooth, creamy caramel notes play off the whisky for a balanced taste, with a warming ginger afterglow.

Contained in a unique stainless steel recyclable flask to keep the liqueur chilled at the right temperature and without the need for ice, it is the perfect gift.

It is available online from Master of Malt priced at £24 per 70cl bottle, (17% ABV) and from Royal Mile Whiskies at £25.95 per 70cl bottle (17% ABV) including free delivery to the UK mainland in time for Christmas.

Team Mouat, three times national champions and podium team on the British Curling elite performance programme, were on hand to give the ice cold drink their approval.

And the clever team of mixologists at Cold Town House have also created a choice of three Christmas cocktails with Magnum to help keep guests warm from the inside out this winter, including ‘The Night Before Christmas’, ‘Polar Express’ and ‘Baby It’s Cold Outside’.

Magnum Director Lee Schofield said:

“We’re so excited to have Team Mouat launch our new Après Ski Terrace at Edinburgh’s Cold Town this Christmas. They’re an amazing group of guys who really embody the spirit of our nation and we think they’re the perfect ambassadors to represent the Magnum brand.

“We’ve gone the extra mile to create a magical winter wonderland for people to celebrate the festive season with family and friends. As well as getting the chance to enjoy Magnum in the stunning backdrop of Edinburgh Castle, hundreds of sparkling Christmas lights will illuminate our special Santa sleigh and giant Magnum bottle Christmas tree to help people capture those perfect moments on Instagram or TikTok.”

Since winning the World and European Championships earlier this year, Team Mouat has been snapped up by Magnum as the official faces of the brand for 2023. Led by Edinburgh-born skipper, Bruce Mouat, the team of four men also took home the silver medal at the 2022 Olympics in Beijing.

Bruce Mouat said:

“As Scotland’s world champion curling team, we’re proud to be working with a true Scottish brand like Magnum this festive season.

“Edinburgh is my hometown, so there’s no better place to be taking Christmas to new heights in the heart of Scotland’s capital city than the rooftop bar of Cold Town House with its fantastic views of Edinburgh Castle.

“We’d like to thank all our fans for their continued support and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”
