We want to get our kids outside and having fun. And they want to look cool in their gear.
So what better than the new range of sandals and wellies launched by upmarket firm Boatilus, which as well as ticking all the parent boxes, also have special features to keep the little ones happy too.
Already an established firm in France, the founders, who as well as being parents, are seventh generation footwear manufacturers, having been in business since 1810.
And they bring them with a sense of French/Italian style to their footwear which is ingenious, sustainable and original.
Quality is number one and special attention is given to the chemical composition of the materials used. Free from phthalates, phenols, and latex, Boatilus prefer to manufacture in Europe using either recyclable or biodegradable raw materials, and the shoe boxes are made from 100% recycled materials.
The range offers sandals for boys and girls (RRP: £15) which as well as being eco friendly, are also scented with a lemon essence made from Italian lemon rinds to give the shoes a delicious smell, which is almost good enough to eat!
The sandals come in a range of bright colours and sizes and are perfect for the beach and messing about outside.
For the more adventurous, Boatilus also have a range of wellies, from The Kids Penguy B Warm Smelly Welly boot (RRP: £35), fully waterproof, made from a durable and flexible rubber non-slip and with a tri-density sole for more stability. The boots have a soft insulated collar, drawstring closure with toggle and thermal boost aluminium mid-sole and warm fleece lining, made from recycled bottles and impregnated with a non toxic fragrance.
The Ducky Smelly Welly (RRP: £22.50) boot is also sturdy, reliable and sustainable and scented with strawberries, so mum and dad can smell the kids, before they see them!
Made from 100% Megol rubber, this rubber allows the Ducky to be flexible and durable in colder temperatures.
The Megol is free from phthalates and phenol and is 100% recyclable. The boots also have an anti-shock, anti-slip sole, molded heel kick to help remove boots and ergonomic molded footbed for extra support.
Again, in vibrant colours and sizes for small folk, the footwear is bound to be a big hit this summer!
