Delphine Eatery and Bar

Delphine Scallops

Within the W Hollywood, beneath massive flanked ceiling fans, on muted blue Mediterranean tiled flooring, sits Delphine. A marble bar, a trio of tufted booths, a library on one wall, a wall of libations on another. Visual welcome varies from the blond arches above to the Provencal pervasiveness throughout, in the heap of Hollywood hustle, Delphine Eatery & Bar delivers a decadent destination, delightful to duck into.

A room with a view is maybe only bettered by a room that is the view. At street level, Hollywood Boulevard blurs with the chic sleek that is iconic W, making Delphine an intersect of sidewalk cinema and contemporary American cuisine.

It’s a place to have a cocktail, so definitely start there. The hand-crafted fusions are full of fun – I spearheaded my adventure with the Grapefruit Shandy. To my friends who enjoy citrus with a bit of bite, this will delight you. Spring into Negroni with the botanist gin, Campari and Lillete will woo those who enjoy a Negroni base. A nice selection of wines available by the glass, and even sangria if you’re so inclined.

The dinner menu fits on one page yet leaves no palate unpleased. With its heart of Hollywood locale, they may play up the Pantages experience with an extension of thematic menu options. The night we visited a Frozen motif accompanied the regular menu, complete with a beverage so blue you’d want to swim in it.

Appetizers appeal with flavors of black sea salt and yuzu avocado puree atop the ahi crudo, or the wedged heirloom tomato that couples so well with the silken burrata. The halibut ceviche is light and lemony and accented with a nice jalapeno tang. Entrees vary vastly from the Salmon and Cabbage Farro (love the Korean spin, with the kimchi fried rice farro) to the Lobster Artichoke Melt (brie and lobster between a croissant, with some Arugula for a peppery punch) to the Short Rib Pappardelle to the Seasonal Chef Risotto. I couldn’t resist trying the Maine lobster and ricotta ravioli, which was pleasantly spicy, and vibrant by way of those heirlooms. All of this set to the scene outside – where the colourful visuals are matched by the diverse delectables coming out of the kitchen.

Finding fabulous cuisine in Hollywood is harder than it should be. Delphine Eatery & Bar delivers on all fronts – the food is fantastic; the eye candy is tinsel town at its costumed kookiest. This is a slam dunk destination for your visiting friends who want to experience Hollywood, where you don’t have to sacrifice a meal to make it happen. Pre or post-Pantages, it’s a no brainer.

  1. I’m wary to reveal that you snatched my attention with “botanical gin” and “Lillet,” my new favorite aperitif. The food sounds like solid accompaniment. A regular date around the Pantages offers ample opportunity. Thanks for the tip!

  2. Perfect! We were always grabbing something quick and not as snazzy as our theater clothes demanded – this sounds like a much better pre-show option. Or post show… so I can indulge in those amazing sounding cocktails without falling asleep at the show!

  3. This looks amazing. I have to try that grapefruit cocktail! I am always looking for something refreshing but not too sweet. This sounds perfect.

  4. This is such a cute and yummy spot! I have dined here on several occasions and always enjoyed!!! Thanks for giving us some new ideas on things to order drink and food wise!!

  5. Thanks as always for the leading me in the right direction. Heading to the Pantages and needing a place eat and this sounds perfect! Can’t wait to try it.

  6. Thank you! I’ve been needing to find a different restaurant for after the Pantages. Can’t wait to add this into the mix. Maybe I’ll make a whole weekend out of it and spend the night there as well. Lol. I love the spa there too.

  7. This place sounds really fun, with its “Hollywoody” vibe and close proximity to the Pantages – we will have to check it out!

  8. Thank you for this review and recommendation. Your keen eye and excellent taste are always welcome and well-worth the read and ultimately the experience. Delish!

  9. I haven’t been to Delphine in a long time but I remember it being delicious. It’s sounds I better going see for myself what they are up to!

  10. Hmm? Now if we use a little organization we can double our evening entertainment pleasure by having both theater and dining to surprise and delight us. It looks like there’s something for everyone!

  11. Food looks great. I don’t get to Hollywood much anymore but will recommend to friends that love to venture out a little more than I.

  12. A great option in the W? I love it! And close to Pantages? A perfect pairing, it seems. Thanks for the heads up!

  13. I’ve lived up the street from The W for ages and never knew this restaurant was there! Sounds delicious! I’ll definitely try it.

  14. Wish I knew about this before! Just saw a coyple of shows at the Pantages and would have preferred eating there than where we did. I’m saving this one for next time for sure! Thanks!

  15. The entrance to Delphine off of Hollywood is a bit deceiving, as it looks like a small restaurant. Until you walk in and you see the main room, which is much more elegant and cozy than I’d expected and connects to the lobby of the W on the other side. I really enjoyed the food, the ambiance, and the service. Clearly, they get a lot of Pantages traffic and the waitstaff seem to really enjoy the theater goers — it made for a really enjoyable, relaxing dinner. The halibut ceviche was light and full of citrus, while the little gem salad was a classic, but nice segue into the grilled salmon. This is definitely a “step up” place to pre-theater for dinner or even post-theater for drinks. The cocktail menu was fun and worth exploring!

  16. 👏🏻 LOVE Delphine! It’s our FAVORITE when going to a show at the Pantages! Have never had the lobster artichoke melt – sounds sinfully delicious – next time! Fab review!

  17. The food looks and sounds wonderful! But the fullness of experience with the words wrapping it makes me feel transported to that loveliness from here! Hope to get there sometime 😊

  18. A GREAT place in Hollywood! I love how clean it is ! Hollywood can be questionable O_o and I LOVE the drinks! especially before seeing a show. The LOBSTER ARTICHOKE MELT is my favorite though get it everytime ☺️(Last photo!)
