Bolton based British watch brand Duckworth Prestex recently unveiled the Broadgate, which is a sophisticated new timepiece inspired by the bustling heart of London’s financial district in The City and combines both classic design elements together with bold new innovations.
The 40mm premium 316L stainless steel case is covered with a robust black DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating that gives it improved durability along with a sleek, modern appearance. The case itself has an overall thickness of 13mm and the watch measures 47mm lug-to-lug, fitted with a flat scratch resistant Saphire crystal glass lens, making it a perfect every day practical and appealing watch for a wide range of people.
There are five distinctive dial options to choose from, including a Pale Green and Pale Blue, as well as more classic colours, with each dial showcasing traditional Duckworth Prestex styling. The bold Arabic numerals, indices and blued steel hands are coated with BGW9 lume to give good readability in poor light.
As well as a range of colours, the Broadgate also offers a choice of either a premium moulded rubber strap available in black, blue or red or a stainless steel link bracelet with quick-release pins. The rubber strap is fitted with a double-folding, tension-sprung clasp for a secure and comfortable fit.
Turn the watch over and you will notice the sapphire crystal see-through case back showcasing the meticulously engraved flying duck rotor, which is a signature detail that celebrates Duckworth Prestex craftsmanship.
At the heart of the Broadgate is the reliable Miyota 9075 GMT automatic movement that gives GMT functionality and a date display and accuracy of -10/+30 seconds per day. The timepiece is also water resistance up to 200 metres, making it even more practical.
Duckworth Prestex Founder Neil Duckworth commented:
“The Broadgate marks a break from our recent tradition of naming watches after areas around Bolton, where we are from, and instead is named after a well-known business district in the City of London. This is emblematic of the purpose and statement of this watch, which is equally at home in the world of international business or leisure, as a serious tool watch that blends our proudly British tradition with contemporary values and lifestyles.”
Priced at £795 and backed by a two-year warranty, the new Broadgate is available to pre-order on the Duckworth Prestex website: www.duckworthprestex.com.
