Maurice Lacroix recently launched their new AIKON Venturer 38mm model, specifically designed to have a case under 40mm for the increasing number of people who are looking for a smaller sized watch ideally suited for most wrists, ever mindful of the trend that many watches these days tend be unisex.
Thanks to the success of the Maurice Lacroix AIKON, the size of the collection has grown, targeting the precise requirements of the Swiss company’s clientele. This new AIKON is equally at home for use in the city as well as venturing out into the countryside, and being unisex, is highly versatile.
When the AIKON was first launched back in 2016, it was originally designed for millennials, but today it is also much loved by Gen Z. The collection has therefore increased as the model’s popularity has grown, by introducing new materials, colours and complications, which has exceeded the expectations of Maurice Lacroix’s growing fan base.
The AIKON Venturer 38mm offers a choice of two dial colours, black or green, and is equipped with silver-toned hour and minute hands, lined with white Super-LumiNova®. Each hour is denoted with luminescent triangular indexes, and the minute track is marked with crisp white lines. The central sweep seconds hand is equipped with a luminescent ‘lollipop’, giving added legibility. Positioned at 3 o’clock, the date display clearly stands out from the sunray dial. In fact, everything has been optimised to ensure the dial is simple to read, day or night, on dry land or in the water, as the timepiece has an impressive water resistance of 300m (30ATM), so you don’t need to worry about wearing it when snorkelling, windsurfing or any other aquatic sport for that matter.
Both the black and green rotating bezel is made with scratch-resistant ceramic and features a count-up scale, which is popular with divers. The crown nestles between a broad protective guard to shield it from damage.
The heart of the AIKON Venturer 38mm is an automatic ML115 calibre, located behind a case back that is adorned with a ‘Vagues du Jura’ motif and the brand’s ‘M’ logo.
You can choose either a black or green rubber strap, embossed with a gleaming ‘M’ logo, or a 5-rows stainless steel bracelet. If, however, you are not sure, the watch is also available with both the strap and bracelet. And as with other AIKON models, the appearance of the watch can be modified, thanks to the Easy Strap Exchange system, which allows you to easily swap the strap or bracelet for an alternative without the need for any tools.
